MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi today condemned the comments of new Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy on Hyderabad being a cradle for terrorist activities.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Owaisi said that the BJP leader was attributing terror links to a city which was growing fast in all sectors and was second in software exports only to Bengaluru.
Even before taking oath as minister, Reddy was talking in such an "irresponsible" manner, Owaisi lamented.
The Hyderabad MP said that Reddy's comments would both demean and hurt the development of the city, and challenged Reddy to give the details to the NIA on the terrorists in the city and the ISIS members captured so far in Hyderabad.
Owaisi also asked whether the Centre would announce Uttar Pradesh as a safe haven for terrorists as many ISIS members were captured there.
He flayed the BJP for trying to turn Muslims into second rate citizens as it had won over 300 seats and had formed the government again at the Centre.
The Narendra Modi government had failed to keep its promises, and was now trying to divert the people's minds from that through such statement, he said.
"The Modi regime failed to check issues that daunted the nation including mob lynching, love jihad, ghar vaapsi, and atrocities on dalits and minorities. And the BJP and the RSS are divided on their talks and views on the same issues - Modi, Kishan Reddy, Baba Ramdev, Giriraj Singh and others speak differently on the same issues," he alleged.
In a related development, reacting to Owaisi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reprimanded Kishan Reddy for his comments on sensitive issues.
