Hyderabad | 6th October 2012
Former minister P Shankar Rao, on Saturday, alleged that Arvind Kejriwal and Shanti Bhushan were leveling baseless charges against Robert Vadra, Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law, at the instance of a "communal party".
Talking to reporters at the Assembly premises, Shankar Rao said that the allegations were being leveled in view of the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. He said that the BJP had no specific agenda for the ensuing elections, and that therefore, it was using Kejriwal and Shanti Bhusan as its agents to drag Sonia Gandhi's family members into controversies.
He said such allegations were aimed at covering up the failures of the BJP government in Guajrat.
"However, people will understand the motives behind such allegations and teach a fitting lesson to the BJP and its supporters," he said.
Shankar Rao demanded that Kejriwal come out with substantial evidence prove his allegations against Vadra, and that otherwise, Kejriwal and Shanti Bhushan tender an unconditional apology to the Gandhi family.
The former minister also praised AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's visit to Jammu & Kashmir along with top industrialists including Rata Tata.
He said that Rahul was working hard to bring back the golden days of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the industrialisation of the state would create new jobs and opportunities for the Kashmiri youth. (INN)
