Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today said that elaborate arrangements had been made for the famous Old City Bonalu on August 5 and for the procession on the following day.
He said that the arrangements were being made at the main temples in the Old City including the Bangaru Maisamma temple in Haribowli, the Akkanna Madanna temple, the Gowlipura Sri Bharathamma temple, the Sri Mutyalamma temple, the Simhavahini temple in Lal Darwaja and the Sri Darbar Mysamma temple in Karwan. Rs 15 crores had been allocated for Bonalu this year to enable the festival to be conducted on a grand scale, he said.
The minister personally reviewed the arrangements in Lal Darwaja. He also instructed the officials to manage the flow of people to enable a smooth darsan for everyone of the presiding deities. Since lakhs of devotees would join the festivities the departments needed to work in sync with each other, he said.
The minister said that the departments should work on all of traffic regulation, barricading, parking, power supply, generators, water and sanitation, and security at the temples.
