Employees of the state-owned APSRTC have decided to go on indefinite strike from February 6, 2019.
As many as 52,000 workers of the corporation will go on strike.
The decision was taken following the rejection of their demands by the corporation - the unions have been demanding a 50% fitment from the management, and discussions between the Managing Director of the corporation N V Surendra Babu and the union leaders on Tuesday ended in a failure.
The joint action committee of the employees and workers' union of the corporation took the decision to go on the strike.
The union leaders said that the pay revision issue of the 52,000 employees was pending since April 1, 2017, and that the state government and the RTC management had deliberately been keeping it that way.
Employees Union Pay Committee members M Hanumantha Rao, P Subramanyam Raju, Avula Prabhakar, G V Narasayya and other RTC employees participated in the discussions with the management.
