The Congress accused the CM of back-tracking on his promise of giving a salary hike to the RTC staff on par with that given to the government employees.
The Telangana Congress on Thursday blamed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the strike by the employees of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC).
Speaking to media persons, Congress senior leader Mallu Ravi and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that the Chief Minister had back-tracked on his promise of giving a salary hike to the RTC staff on par with that given to the state government employees.
They justified the demands being made by the employees' unions, and accused the state government of intimidating the employees by threatening to invoke the ESMA.
Announcing their complete support to the RTC strike, the leaders demanded that the state government accept all the demands to end the strike. (INN)
