The government proposes to inaugurate 163 plants in rural areas, covering all constituencies, and also around 110 plants in urban areas, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi on Thursday.
Earlier, a Cabinet sub-committee, which was formed to study the project, had established a technical committee for the finalization of the types of treatments to be taken up.
They included the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system, Ultra Filtration followed by UV Treatment, Electrolytic De-Fluoridation System and Terafil Technology. (INN)
