The state government has invited the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers' Association (APNGOs) for talks to explore the possibilities of ending the ongoing strike over the state's bifurcation issue.
According to sources, Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty will lead the talks on behalf of the government. Ashok Babu and other leaders would represent the unions which have been on strike for the past 64 days. The talks are likely to be held on Tuesday evening.
The APNGOs and other unions have been on an indefinite strike, in protest against the Centre's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out a separate Telangana state. The administration in AP has come to a standstill, especially in the 13 districts of the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. (INN)
