AP Speaker Not To Disqualify Defecting YSRCP MLAs
Andhra Pradesh Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao rejected two petitions of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who sought disqualification of 13 of his MLAs who defected.
In a great relief to the defectors who joined the ruling TDP after quitting the YSR Congress Party, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao has rejected two petitions filed by YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who sought disqualification of the 13 MLAs who defected.
The 13 MLAs joined the ruling Party in Andhra Pradesh in two phases - in the first phase 11 YSRCP MLAs joined the TDP, and in the second phase two others did. The YSRCP had filed petitions after both these phases demanding the disqualification of these MLAs.
The Speaker ruled that Jagan's applications had been rejected on technical grounds as they were not as per the norms. These were rejected after an inquiry, Kodela said.
