Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the AP government would pay adequate compensation to the farmers and other individuals for the lands proposed to be acquired from them under land pooling model to establish the State's new capital in the Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri (VGTM) region.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Reddy said that the government proposes to acquire as much land as possible before building the new capital.
He said that the new capital would have all the expected facilities, and would be convenient for all the residents of Andhra Pradesh.
He informed that the government was planning to constitute a Capital Development Authority in a month to acquire the land.
According to sources, the AP government is planning to acquire one lakh acres of land for the construction of the new capital. Around 25,000 acres of land would be acquired in the first phase. (INN)
