The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that the results of the municipal elections in the state should be declared only after May 7.
Observing that the results might affect the outcome of the elections for the Assembly and the Lok Sabha, the Supreme Court said that the results may be declared only after May 7, after the conclusion of polling in the Seemandhra region.
"Why are you implementing different attitudes in the Panchayat and municipal elections?" asked the Court. It also faulted the State Election Commission for changing its arguments more than once. (INN)
