Health Minster D L Ravindra Reddy, on Saturday, categorically stated that the state government would not hold any talks with the striking junior doctors till they end their strike.
Talking to reporters after attending a private function in Hyderabad, the minister said that the junior doctors' strike was unethical, and the government does not propose to hold any discussion with the doctors if the strike continues.
The minister said that the government was in favour of continuing the implementation of GO Ms. No. 287 with regard to the stipend.
Ravindra Reddy also slammed Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for criticising the government on the issue of the junior doctors.
He said that Naidu had refused to increase the stipend by even 1 paisa when he was Chief Minister, and that he was now accusing the state government of being non-responsive to the demands of the junior doctors.
He also ridiculed the statement of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on the issue. He said that Jagan was not even aware of the basic demands and the government's response towards the issue. (INN)
