The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court's order to complete the EAMCET counselling process by August 31 by following the Presidential Order.
Addressing media persons at the State Secretariat, Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore and Advisor to the Government of AP (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar said that the Telangana government did not have a choice but respect the apex court's decision.
They said that the Telangana government was unnecessarily creating a controversy out of the nativity issue. The Telangana government cannot not say that AP did not have the right to talk about fee reimbursement, they added.
Prabhakar clarified that the AP government did not see bearing the students' fees as a burden. He added that the issue could not be divided between 10 districts (of Telangana) and 13 districts (of AP) because it affected the students of both States.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the decision of the apex court, and said that efforts needed to be made for the smooth conduct of the admission process. (INN)
