The state government has resolved to improve the quality of education in the government schools to make them more attractive than private schools.
Hitherto, parents were rushing to private schools spending huge amounts for school education for their children. Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat on Friday after taking over charge as Secondary and Intermediate Education Minister, K Pardhasaradhi said that the government was planning to gradually remove the concept of private schools, and replace them with quality government schools.
The government was also planning to prepare well in advance to fill up the retired teacher vacancies so that the students did not suffer for want of teachers, he said.
