The City Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations to be held at NTR Stadium on Thursday.
City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma and other senior officials visited the venue on Wednesday to review the security arrangements. Talking to reporters later, the Commissioner said that foolproof security would be in place for the smooth conduct of the official celebration.
He said that steps were also being taken to regulate the movement of traffic around Indira Park.
While all the roads leading towards NTR Stadium would be closed for the general traffic till the end of the official function, vehicles with valid passes will be allowed entry into the designated areas.
The police are now more vigilant in view of the boycott call given by pro-Telangana groups. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee have called upon people to observe November 1 as "Telangana betrayal Day".
Besides NTR Stadium, elaborate security arrangements are being made at the Assembly, Secretariat, Ministers' Quarters and other official locations. (INN)
