Following a halt in the talks with the Telugu Desam Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party is exploring the options of having an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
According to sources, BJP senior leader Vidyasagar Rao is in touch with TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao over the issue of a possible alliance between the two parties.
Although the BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javedkar denied reports of talks with the TRS, he praised the latter party, and claimed that the TRS will definitely win in Telangana.
These remarks triggered further speculation that the BJP was inching closer to the TRS.
Meanwhile, sources added that the BJP wants the process of talks with the TDP to reach a conclusion before initiating an official move to speak to the TRS.
Till then, some senior leaders, including Vidyasagar Rao, have been assigned the task of preparing the ground for future talks. If the talks with the TDP fail, then the BJP might move ahead to ally with the TRS. (INN)
