Welfare schemes and development works are likely to get a lion's share in the ensuing state budget, while it may, in all likelihood, be people-friendly.
"The 2012-13 budget will focus mainly on the welfare of the common man, and will not put much burden on him," Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said on Tuesday.
"For the first time in the country, the Finance Department has sought all department programs 'online' for allotting budgetary funds, and to maintain transparency and to prevent the misuse of funds," he told reporters here.
"We have trained 650 persons for this purpose," he said, after the meeting with Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and his officials.
"My ministry has given its clearance for the filling up of 1.11 lakh of the 1.16 lakh posts in various departments, and under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu announced by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Dues of scholarships and hostel bills of students up to 2008-09 were cleared," he added.
"We have given approval in principle for the recruitment of posts lying vacant in RTC," he said, adding that the posts would be filled up by the end of March.
Stating that Rs. 200 crore has been released for the development of RTC in 2010-11, he said that his ministry has released Rs. 150 crore, and that the remaining amount would be released before the end of the financial year. (INN)
