The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) finds itself in increasing trouble as more and more of its MLAs are leaving the party and joining the ruling Congress in Telangana.
On Friday, another BRS MLA, Kale Yadaiah, joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, AICC Telangana in-charge Deepa Dasmunsi and other leaders in New Delhi.
Yadaiah, who represents the Chevella Assembly constituency in Rangareddy district, is the sixth MLA of the BRS to defect to the Congress.
Tellam Venkata Rao (Bhadrachalam), Danam Nagender (Khairatabad), Kadiyam Srihari (Station Ghanpur), Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (Bansuwada) and M Sanjay Kumar (Jagtial) are the other BRS MLAs who have so far joined the ruling Congress.
The Congress strength in the Assembly is now 71, up from 65.
