The Andhra Pradesh government's
controversial stand on the organisation of this year's SSC and intermediate exams in the state has brought much flak its way, especially after Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan, despite a < href="/hyderabad-news/pawan-kalyan-slams-jagan-over-class-10-exam-decision-23072.html">sea of criticism, continually asserted that the exams would be conducted soon.
Sticking to its guns the matter, the Jagan regime recently announced that the class ten exams would be held from June 7.
Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh made the announcement on the decision.
Speaking to the media, he said that since the steps initiated by the CM for the containment of the current pandemic had were yielding the desired results, it was not reckless to organise the exams.
The minister also explained that the "objective" behind holding the exams was to ensure that all the tenth graders in the state would have "a bright future". He asked the students to prepare for the exams as per the schedule released by the government.
Some in the state have reportedly been wondering whether the exams are more important than the lives of students. They feel that it is not too late even now for the Jagan government to revise its decision, which will ease the minds of the already-troubled students.
However, the CM has been intent on organising the class ten exams from June 7 to 14. He even
defended the decision by claiming that the cancellation would harm the future of students greatly, and rued the fact that he was being "targeted" by his political rivals over a decision taken for the welfare of the students.
