The India Meteorological Department, on Saturday, issued a heavy-rainfall warning for several districts across Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rain is most likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda and Medak of Telangana and in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari of coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Rayalaseema, and in the remaining districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the same period, the Met Department said.
According to the IMD Director In-Charge G Sudhakar Rao, the South West Monsoon has been active over Telangana and Rayalaseema.
The low pressure area lies over the north-west Bay of Bengal off the coast of Odisha. (INN)
