Legislative Council Adjourned To Dec 10
The Upper House, which was convened to discuss the damage caused by cycline Nilam, took a different course, with members asking for the cabinet sub-committee report on the SC/ST Sub Plan.
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was adjourned to December 10 after opposition members were unrelenting on their demand to table the cabinet sub-committee report on the SC ST Sub plan.
The Upper House, which was convened to discuss the damage caused by cycline Nilam, took a different course, with members asking for the sub-committee's report.
MIM MLCs Altaf Hyder Rizvi and Amin-ul-Hasan Jafri made adjournment motions seeking the cabinet sub-committee's report. This led to a furore, with the Telugu Desam Party supporting the adjournment motion.
However, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy tried to pacify members, while speaking about the background of the cabinet sub-committee.
He assured the members that the issue would be looked into after the bill is tabled in the House. But when members insisted, chairman A Chakrapani adjourned the House for 30 minutes.
When the House reassembled, the demand grew stronger, and the House was adjourned to December 10. (INN)
