Keeping in mind the heavy rains and floods, the State Election Commission has postponed the Panchayat elections in as many as 6 districts.
The elections were originally scheduled to be held on July 31 in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam, Warangal and East Godavari.
Elections have been postponed in all mandals of the Bhadrachalam Revenue Division of Khammam district. Similarly, elections in 70 panchayats which are likely to be affected due to floods have been postponed.
This action was carried out following recommendations by the District Collectors concerned. (INN)
