TDP candidate Silpa Chakrapani Reddy secured 600 votes to the YSR Congress Party candidate's 474 in the elections for the Kurnool MLC seat.
In the election to the Prakasam district MLC seat, TDP candidate Magunta Srinivasula Reddy polled 711 votes. In spite of the YSRCP boycotting the Prakasam district MLC election, its candidate Attla Chinna Venkat Reddy still polled 13 votes.
The YSR Congress had announced the boycott after nominating its candidate. Since the date for withdrawal of nominations expired before the the YSR Congress announced the boycott, the party could not withdraw its candidate's nomination. (NSS)
