Union Home Minister Amit Shah today landed at the Begumpet airport for his day-long visit to the State.
Shah was accorded a warm reception by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy, State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and the BJP State in-charge Tarun Chug, at the airport.
Shah went straight to the Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali temple and performed special prayers along with the State party leaders.
The priests of the temple accorded a Poornakumbha welcome to the Union Home Minister during his visit.
Later, Shah went to the residence of a party worker staying in Sambamurthy Nagar of Secunderabad, Satyanarayana.
The local Corporator, a BJP leader, welcomed Shah at the residence of Satyanarayana.
Shah had a cup of coffee with the party worker and inquired about his well-being.
Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Tarun Chugh too accompanied the union minister on this visit to the party worker's home.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana and his family members said that they were fortunate that no less than the Union Home Minister visited their small residence, and that they would never forget this event in their lives.
They also said that their entire colony had been wearing a festive look since yesterday thanks to decision of Shah to visit their house.
Satyanarayana added that the visit of Shah to his residence was a classic example of the respect that the BJP gave ordinary workers of the party.
He said that the party would also give adequate respect to the dalits of the State.
The residents of Sambamurthy Colony also expressed their joy at the visit of Shah to their colony.
