Amid Third Front Buzz, KCR To Visit Delhi On Apr 3
While the ostensible reason is to attend the oath-taking ceremony of his RS MPs, the Telangana CM will meet several national leaders when in the capital.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to visit New Delhi on April 3 to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the three TRS members elected to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana.
The three newly-elected MPs are J Santhosh Kumar, B Prakash and B Lingaiah Yadav.
In view of his efforts to float a third front, KCR's visit to the national capital gets importance, especially since it comes on the heels of his recent meeting with his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata to seek her support for the front. Sure enough, according to informed sources, when in the capital, the Chief Minister is expected to meet with some national leaders to garner their support for the front, against the Congress and the BJP.
Banerjee is to attend a similar meeting with Maharashtra strongman and NCP chief Sharad Pawar - to build the third front - who is likely to support the Congress-led UPA alliance otherwise.
Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam boss Chandrababu Naidu has also reportedly been contacting national leaders, many his old friends, himself to float a national front to take on the BJP and the Congress in the 2019 elections.
It is to be seen which front will eventually take shape at the national level to fight the two national parties.
