TSRTC Managing Director V C Sajjanar today asked noted Telugu film actor Allu Arjun to tender an apology for insulting the body, a public service corporation.
He informed a section of the media that Arjun had acted in an advertisement which belittled the TSRTC.
The MD said that actors should behave in a manner that protected the interests of the people and any organizations.
"They can act, but not hurt others for advertisements or movies. We have no problem with the actor or with Rapido, the organization that he shot the advertisement for, but the advertisement belittles the image of the TSRTC. For this we have served a notice to Arjun, who should tender an apology immediately or face legal action," Sajjanar said.
"Actors are more responsible towards society given the kind of influence they command, and they cannot cause insult or inconvenience to others for their self-aggrandisement. RTC buses were part of my childhood, education and college days," he added.
Sajjanar also said that he would make efforts to strengthen the corporation even more, and help it grow further and turn profitable.
