Five days after the killing of five undertrials in an alleged encounter at Alair, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Sunday announced that the Telangana government would order a probe into it following allegations of the encounter being fake.
Speaking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, Reddy claimed that the TRS government was not averse to conducting an inquiry into the encounter. However, he said that the nature of the probe would be decided by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself.
He also assured that action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry report.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had earlier sought a few days' time from the delegation of Muslim United Forum leaders to take a decision on ordering a probe into the encounter.
Reddy's assurance is the first reaction from the TRS government on the Alair encounter, which had generated lot of criticism from different political parties and human rights groups. (INN)
