Owaisi Produced Before Medak Court
MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was produced before the Medak court in connection with a case registered against him on 16 March 2005, for allegedly abusing the then District Collector.
MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was produced before a court in Medak here on Thursday in connection with a case booked against him in 2005.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was brought to Sangareddy from Adilabad District Jail on a Prisoner Transit Warrant. He was produced before the court in connection with a case registered against him on March 16, 2005, for allegedly abusing the then District Collector while trying stop the demolition of a place of worship for the facilitation of road expansion at Muttangi village. The court adjourned the next hearing on the case to January 28.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was seen walking with great difficulty due to stomach pain. He had kept his left hand on the stomach, clearly indicating that he was in severe pain. Later, talking to reporters, MIM MLA Muqteda Afsar Khan said that Akbar was not being given proper treatment.
The MIM leader was later shifted back to the Adilabad District Jail.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed outside the court complex when MIM workers raised slogans against the government for allegedly harassing Akbaruddin Owaisi. Police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the agitated MIM workers.
It may be mentioned that Akbaruddin Owaisi was arrested by the Nirmal Police on January 8 in a case of making alleged hate speech on December 22. Later, the court granted five-day police custody for further investigation. He was sent back to judicial remand till January 22 on Wednesday after the end of police custody period. (INN)
