The government will recruit 1,300 persons in the Agriculture Department, in the next financial year.
This was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Friday, after he released a diary and a 2012 calendar of Telangana Agriculture Officers Society, at the Lake View Guest House in Hyderabad.
"The state has given its approval in principle for filling 1,300 posts lying vacant in the Agriculture Department," he said.
He said that the government would recruit 550 Agriculture Officers and 827 Assistant Agriculture Officers, and added that the notification for the posts would be issued soon.
According to the minister, the government will also sanction loans amounting to Rs. 2,000 crores, to farmers, to promote the use of machinery.
Agriculture Commissioner Usharani and other officials were present at the program. (INN)
