After Record Win, KCR Slams Opposition

An elated Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today said that Warangal by-election result in favour of the TRS had enhanced the Party's responsibility to offer better services in the State.

The TRS would also witness a similar victory in the upcoming GHMC elections, he said.

Addressing a press conference after a gap at the Party headquarters Telangana Bhavan, the Chief Minister lambasted the Opposition parties for carrying on false criticism for the sake of political mileage.

He launched a blitzkrieg on the Congress, the Telugu Desam Party and the BJP for persistent hostile talk that the TRS government would collapse any time, which was disproved at the hustings.

The misinformation campaign to belittle the state government's welfare schemes had failed to convince the voters, he said. Despite all the false propaganda, the people of Warangal, who had always been with the TRS since the days of the statehood fight, saw the truth, he stated.

"We will take this opportunity to offer the best of services, avoiding pride and hubris after the Warangal victory," he said.

He also accused the Opposition of politicizing every issue, from the shifting of the Secretariat and the Chest Hospital, to the cleansing of the Hussain Sagar and the reconstrction of the Osmania Hospital, and the Bathukamma festival of women.

He sought to know whether only his daughter and MP Kavitha had celebrated the State festival or if lakhs of other women had participated voluntarily.

The Chief Minister also ridiculed the Congress chief in Telangana Uttam Kumar Reddy declaring that the Congress would win the by-poll with at least a one lakh-vote majority.

The people voted for the welfare-oriented and working government, he pointed out.

He also said that the people of Telangana had given a massive mandate to the TRS to set right the injustices meted out to them during the regime of the Andhra rulers.

He vowed to complete the irrigation projects to distribute waters to one crore acres in the State by 2021. KCR also said that the Water Grid would be completed as per schedule.

KCR also lambasted an Andhra newspaper which had indulged in getting his effigy burnt on the very fifth day of his taking over as Chief Minister.

He said that the particular newspaper wrote all sorts of nonsense, and that some of the Telangana leaders flayed him on the basis of those reports.

The people of the State had not believed those stories, he said.
