The Telangana leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and chairperson of the search committee of the party Indira Shoban today quit from the party.
She wrote an open letter to that effect to the party's national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and state party incharge Somnath Bharati.
In her letter, she told Kejriwal that she was hurt at his decision to maintain close ties with Telangana CM and BRS party president K Chandrashekar Rao, who she said was known as the Raja of corruption in the entire country.
Claiming that the party high command had earlier extended its support to her fight against KCR, she asked Kejriwal why he had now joined hands with the Telangana CM.
She also asked how a leader like Kejriwal had fallen for the claims of a "corrupt" leader like KCR, and asked if Kejriwal had changed his decision to fight against KCR after receiving liberal donations from the Megha group.
She asked Kejriwal where the party workers and leaders of the State should go after his "shocking" decision to join hands with the "corrupt" BRS, and wondered if it was fair for KCR to risk the political careers of the party's leaders and workers for his "selfish" political goals.
She said that she took the decision to quit the party following the advice of her supporters and well-wishers.
