855 CCTV Cameras Inaugurated In Maheshwaram Zone
Under a special drive, 289 CCTVs were installed in 26 colonies and villages, and 566 at 138 vulnerable temples.

Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu today inaugurated 855 CCTV cameras in the Maheshwaram zone.
Of these, 289 have been installed across 26 colonies and villages, covering major roads and junctions, at a cost of Rs 68,00,000, with a two-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) under a community initiative.
The remaining 566 have been installed at 138 vulnerable temples under a special drive.
These community cameras will be integrated into the Command & Control Centre, where a dedicated team will monitor them around the clock.
As of today, 2,997 community CCTV cameras and 23,582 Nenusaitham CCTV cameras have been installed and geo-tagged within the limits of the zone.
The CP said that the CCTV cameras played a pivotal role in enhancing security and crime prevention, fostering the creation of a safer society by deterring criminal activities, aiding investigations, enabling proactive surveillance, facilitating crime analysis and promoting community safety. He added that .
Due to the CCTV cameras the Rachakonda police had detected several sensational cases and the CCTV was vital to modern crime prevention strategies, he added.
Sudheer Babu requested colony and village elders to come forward to install more CCTV cameras, saying that the mere presence of the cameras could discourage unlawful behaviour, creating a safer environment for all residents. He urged everyone to take responsibility and work together for a more secure neighborhood.
The CP also appreciated and felicitated the colony elders who had supported the police in installing the cameras.
