81 New Coronavirus Cases In AP, Total 1,097

Andhra Pradesh reported 81 new Covid-19 cases today (Sunday).

With this, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in the state reached 1,097.

While 81 is the highest new cases in a day so far for the state, it is partly also because the rapid testing kits from South Korea have made a lot more testing possible.

Also, it's not all bad - 60 persons were also discharged today. The previous highest was 27, on April 20. And there were no new casualties today.

The daily new cases in the ten days until today are 38, 31, 44, 75, 35, 56, 80, 62, 61 and 81 (today), and the spurt in recent days is likely due to the higher testing.

There are currently 835 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in the designated hospitals of the state.

Of the 61 new cases reported today, Krishna district again reported the highest, with 50 cases, followed by West Godavari district with 12 cases.
