Though Jupally Krishna Rao's resignation that was accepted late Wednesday evening did not set off a chain reaction of ministers resigning (yet) as feared, upto 8 Telangana Congress MPs revealed that they would work together to intensify the Telangana agitation.
Headed by Congress Working Committee (CWC) member K Keshava Rao, Manda Jagannadham, Madhu Yashki Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar, G Vivek, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and S Rajaiah gathered at Rajagopal's residence on Wednesday, and charted out an event calender.
The group decided that they would convene an extended meeting with Telangana ministers on June 5th to discuss the action plan for Telangana agitations, and that they would fly to New Delhi on June 6th to meet senior Congress leader, including All India Congress Presient Sonia Gandhi if possible, to convince them of the necessity to grant the Telangana statehood.
The group also stated that they would intensify their agitations and hand in their resignation letters if necessary, in July, if the Centre fails to announce the bifurcation of the state by the end of June.
