The vigilance wing of the GHMC on Saturday razed hundreds of illegal structures that had come up on the footpaths of the city.
As many as 620 illegal encroachments were demolished by the officials of the wing in a day-long drive.
The drive was conducted in six different major roads of the corporation. It was led by the director of the vigilance wing of the corporation Vishwajit Kampati.
Speaking on the occasion, Kampati said that they had razed 620 structures over a stretch of 2.8 km, and that this was a continuation of several such razing exercises. He said that they had taken up the drive as per Section 504 of the GHMC Act, and that the drive would continue on the next Saturday.
