6-month-old Abducted From Niloufer Rescued From Banswada Couple

The Hyderabad police today rescued a six-month-old infant Faisal Khan from a couple named Katroth Mamtha and K Srinivas, residents of Kothabad Thanda, Kamareddy district.

The couple had abducted the infant from the premises of Niloufer Hospital.

Upon a complaint from Fareeda Begum and her husband, residing at Gandipet crossroads, on September 14, a case had been registered by the Nampally police. The Fareedas said that on September 14, 2023, at about 11 am, Fareeda along with her mother had come to Niloufer Hospital for her elder son's treatment. While her mother was with her elder son, she was taking care of the infant and waiting in the patients' lounge.

Meanwhile, another woman came and struck up a conversation with Fareeda, claiming that she had a two-month-old baby who was undergoing treatment. Sometime later Fareeda fed her baby and fell asleep. The other lady then left with the Fareeda's baby.

The police used technology and traced the accused persons to Banswada of Kamareddy district, and rescued the baby from them and handed him over to his parents.

The accused Katroth Mamtha & Srinivas had two boys but the children died due to some genetic diseases. 10 days back they had another boy in their village, but the doctors informed them that the boy was suffering from Hyper Viscosity Syndrome. They couple thought that this boy would also die, and so hatched a plan to kidnap any baby boy from Niloufer Hospital and leave their ill baby there.

As per their plan, on September 14, the couple along with their infant boy came to Niloufer Hospital in the evening and searched for another infant boy to steal. They targeted Fareeda's six-month-old and kidnapped him and left the hospital, and reached JBS in an auto, boarded a Nizamabad-bound bus and reached their native place.

The police arrested the accused in the early hours of September 20 at Banswada and brought them to the Nampally police station, and the kidnapped baby was handed over to his parents.
