5,500 Autos For Telangana Minority Youth On Nov 11

The Telangana Government will distribute 1,000 auto-rickshaws in Hyderabad and 500 in every district among eligible unemployed youth under the driver-cum-owner scheme, on November 11 to mark the birth anniversary of Abdul Kalam Azad, said Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali after a review meeting on the minorities' welfare.
Mahmood Ali told the media at the Secretariat that the officials concerned received 2,800 applications for 1,000 auto-rickshaws in Hyderabad.
He also said that the government would also release Rs 50,000 to each of 250 Urdu schools in the State towards facilities and infrastructure.
The Minority Welfare Department was also planning to build a comprehensive block in each district to accommodate a Haj House, a Wakf Board, an Urdu Academy and a Minority Welfare Corporation office, Mahmood Ali added.
The Deputy CM also said that steps were being taken to fill 250 vacant posts in various departments, including Hyderabad.
For foreign education, the Minority Welfare department would provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakhs in two installments, he said.
Muslim girls were being encouraged to study and were being offered training to get jobs, he informed the media.
He added that the government was also extending Rs 51,000 in financial assistance for the marriage of Muslim girls. Under the Shaadi Mubarak scheme, the department had received 21,000 applications this year in Hyderabad, he disclosed.
Funds were ready for the construction of one building for a residential school in every district after finding land, Mahmood Ali said.
He accused the previous government of ignoring the plight of the minorities, and said that the TRS government was taking all possible steps for their welfare with adequate funds.
He warned that severe action would be taken against land grabbers after a survey soon.
