52.82 Lakh Beneficiaries In Gruha Jyothi: Bhatti
The Deputy CM said that the government had paid Rs 3,593.17 crore to the electricity distribution companies on behalf of these beneficiaries.

Replying to a question today raised by MLC Vijayashanti in the Legislative Council, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that beneficiaries under the Gruha Jyothi scheme were being provided free electricity up to 200 units.
Vikramarka informed the House that the number of Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries in the State stood at 52,82,498, and that the State government had paid Rs 3,593.17 crore to the electricity distribution companies on behalf of these beneficiaries.
Of the total beneficiaries, 25,35,560 fell under the jurisdiction of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (SPDCL), and 27,46,938 under the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (NPDCL), the Deputy CM said.
The scheme had contributed to social, health and economic progress, and enabled families to provide better education for their children, he claimed.
