Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today appointed a five-year-old named Nihal as a brand ambassador of the irrigation department for his tremendous knowledge of the irrigation projects of the state.
The tiny tot of Pandillapally village under Chintakani mandal of Khammam district, now in UKG, spoke for 20 minutes continuously on the various irrigation projects in the state providing minute details, Rao said, and called it astonishing and laudable.
"It took me six months to understand all the irrigation projects in the state. The boy of five giving me minute details of several projects including the various redesigns was awe-inspiring," he said. He appreciated the boy's parents, and announced that the irrigation department would bear the expenditure for the education of Nihal. He also pledged government support to Nihal in his future endeavours.
Rao directed the officials to make arrangements for a tour to all the irrigation projects for Nihal and his parents. Nihal also said that he wanted to meet the Chief Minister, and is likely to see him soon.
