Telangana Industries Minister Sridhar Babu today said that the 400-acre land in Survey No 25 at Kanche-Gachibowli was government property.
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat, Babu, along with Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, accused the BRS and BJP leaders of misleading the public for political gain, and said, "Some individuals are spreading misinformation, alleging that we are destroying natural rock formations and water bodies. This is entirely false, and such actions are unacceptable. We are proceeding with a well-defined action plan to safeguard the environment. Political maneuvering that hinders the State's progress is not in the best interest of the people."
The minister also reiterated that the State government had not encroached upon even an inch of land belonging to Hyderabad Central University.
"The university has never had legal ownership rights over a single acre of the 400-acre land. Students and staff have long been demanding a resolution to this issue. However, the BRS government, during its tenure, ignored their concerns. Now, the party is engaging in false propaganda against us," he explained.
The minister also said that a week ago the State government had held a meeting with the university's Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, and that in response to their request, the government had taken steps to grant legal ownership rights to the university in accordance with regulations.
