An overcrowded boat carrying members of Ongole Walkers Club capsized near Vijayawada killing 16 people

At least 16 people were reported dead when a boat full of members of the Ongole Walkers' Club capsized in the Krishna river near Vijayawada on Sunday.

According to sources, the boat was overcrowded at the time of the incident.

A team from the National Disaster Management Relief Force (NDRF) had reached the spot, and was conducting search operations till the last reports came in.
