11 MLAs of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) were suspended from the state Legislative Assembly for 2 days, for disrupting the proceedings of the House, on Wednesday.
As soon as the House met on Wednesday at 9am, the Telugu Desam Party moved an adjournment, seeking discussions on the liquor scam.
The TRS and the BJP wanted the House to introduce a Telangana resolution.
And while the MIM wanted a debate on the issuing of job notifications in Urdu language, the CPI stressed for a discussion on the drought, and the CPM wanted a debate on the regularization of IKP employees.
However, Speaker Nadendla Manohar's decision to disallow all the adjournment motions led to pandemonium and furore. The Speaker then adjourned the House for half-an-hour.
Similar scenes were witnessed when the House re-assembled at 11:30am. The TRS members rushed to Speaker's podium, demanding a Telangana resolution. Having failed to convince the TRS members to resume their seats, the Speaker asked Roads & Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad to move a resolution for the suspension of 11 TRS MLAs for 2 days.
Despite suspension, the TRS MLAs refused to leave the House, and were evicted by the marshals.
Later, the BJP and CPI MLAs staged a walk-out, in protest against the suspension of the TRS MLAs. (INN)
