Communist Party Of India state secretary K Narayana, on Sunday, said that the state government must be held responsible for the infants' deaths that occurred in the SVR Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati.
Talking to media persons after inspecting the hospital, Narayana said that the deaths had occurred mainly due to the government's failure.
He said that the government has totally failed to provide proper infrastructural facilities in government hospitals, and that it was giving them step-motherly treatment by encouraging corporate hospitals.
"The shortage of facilities and doctors in these hospitals have exposed the government's negligent and irresponsible attitude towards the lives of patients," he said.
"The government has even failed to create awareness among common people on seasonal diseases," he complained. (INN)
