The YSR Congress Party will highlight the failures of the TDP government in implementing its election promises, especially the loan waivers promised for farmers and women's groups, and start agitation programs, in addition to taking steps to strengthen the Party from the village level up.
A decision to this effect was taken at a State-level meeting chaired by Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The meeting chalked out a program to strengthen the Party by forming committees at village and mandal levels, and carrying out agitation programs against the State government.
"The agitations will start in the beginning of October at the mandal level, and will escalate to the district level. An action plan is also being chalked out, with Y S Jaganmohan Reddy taking the lead," party senior leaders Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Vasireddy Padma and Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy told reporters on Tuesday.
State level committees were earlier formed for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Initially, the focus would be on strengthening the organizational structure at the village and ward levels, through the affiliated bodies like the student, women, SC, BC and other wings, the leaders said. At each level, the Party would appoint observers from outside who would work with local leaders to strengthen the Party covering all constituencies.
The shoddy manner in which the TDP was governing the State would be questioned at all levels, and the loan waiver issue would be highlighted during the agitation programs, the details of which would be released later, they informed. (INN)
