YSRCP Slams TDP Remarks On Jagan-Modi Meeting
Jagan's Party also said it would support the TDP-BJP government in all its people-friendly measures, and would oppose it if it reneged on its promises.

Slamming the remarks of TDP leaders and a section of the press allegedly trying to spin imaginative stories on the meeting of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy with Narender Modi, the YSR Congress Party has said that with a 48% vote share, the party would play a constructive role in the government and would stand as a model opposition party in the country.
"The statements of the TDP leaders about raking up cases against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and attributing the cases to be the subject of discussions that must have taken place between Reddy and Narender Modi are absurd, as the issue is in the courts and the judiciary does not come under the purview of the Prime Minster of the Union Government. Such loose talk only establishes the fact that the TDP leaders and a section of the media have no faith in or do not understand the functioning of the judiciary," party MLA K Sridhar Reddy told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
"The unwarranted talk of the TDP leaders and their attempts to lure local leaders to desert YSRCP are not in good taste, and with 8 MPs and 67 MLAs in Seemandhra, we are a force to reckon with. We have full faith in our leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and will run though the course of time and play our role to its justified end," he said.
"We will support the government in all its measures that will help the people, and will take the ruling party head-on if it goes back on its poll promises or fails to deliver the goods. The difference of voting percentage between us is just under 2%, and we are not far behind. Because of certain factors like Modi and others supporting the TDP, we got a shade less percentage, but we are very strong and resolute," Reddy added.
"Jagan met Modi and explained to him the injustice being meted out to the Seemandhra region and the lacunae in the State Reorganisation Bill 2014. He sought redressal on other issues that were mentioned by the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh but which were not part of the Bill. He also stressed about the imperative need to rebuild Seemandhra," he informed.
"The two leaders had an in-camera meeting for a brief while, which is being blown out of proportion by the TDP leaders and a section of the media, who are tagging the court cases to it, which is ridiculous and an insult to the judiciary," Reddy said.
"We have ideological differences with the BJP, and what our leader said was that the party would extend issue-based support to the NDA," he said, adding that they were proud to work under the leadership of Jaganmohan Reddy. (INN)
