D L Ravindra Reddy, Congress' candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, has been charged with threatening the residents of a S V Colony in Kadapa on Thursday night.
D L Ravindra Reddy, the Congress' candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, has been charged with threatening the residents of S V Colony in Kadapa on Thursday night.
The residents claim that the Congress leader had summoned them from their homes on Thursday night and spoke objectionably to the women and the children assembled.
A Christian woman residing in the region revelaed that some of them had informed D L that they would vote for Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as the the latter had promised to construct a church for them - a promise that she claims no other leader had made. Ravindra had allegedly responded by foul-mouthing them.
Jagan, their knight in shining armour, rushed to the region on Friday as soon as he learnt about the previous night's events. He spoke to the locals to get a detailed version of the incident.
Speaking to the media persons present, Jagan condemned DL's behavior. He has even claimed that the Congress leader had threatened that he would douse the locals in kerosene and set them afire, and that we would kick at them with a booted foot, if they did not vote for him.
Jaganmohan Reddy promised the locals that some of his followers would be made available to rush to their rescue if any untoward incident occurs again.
Jagan then went on to file a complaint against D L Ravindra Reddy with the Kadapa police.
