YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy, on Wednesday, filed a writ petition in the High Court, seeking permission to campaign in the by-elections through the electronic media and the print media.
In his petition, Jagan appealed to the court to provide him an opportunity to speak to the people through the electronic and print media.
Jagan's counsel said that Jagan had filed the petition under the Right To Expression enshrined in the Article 19 (1) of the Indian constitution.
In the petition, he made Principal Secretary (Home), Director General (Prisons), Inspector General and Director General of Police respondents, and sought their permission to speak in front of the media.
It may be mentioned here that Jagan's mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila launched the by-elections campaign after his interim bail petitions were rejected by the CBI special court and the High Court. (INN)
