"Will Take Action Against Fire Safety Violators"
The government will amend existing labour and company laws to initiate strong action against errant companies which do not obey safety norms, says D K Aruna.
Information & Public Relations minister D K Aruna, on Thursday, stated that the government would initiate stringent action against companies which fail to follow safety norms and are responsible for frequent fire mishaps.
Talking to media persons after enquiring about the health of those who sustained burn injuries in a boiler blast (in which 4 lives were lost and and 10 persons were injured) at a unit of Steam Core Ispats Private Limited in Shadnagar in Mahbubnagar district, Aruna said that she had directed the doctors to provide better healthcare facilities to all the injured.
She said that the government would also consider options for more compensation for victims of the mishap.
She also said that the government would amend existing labour and company laws to initiate strong action against errant companies which do not obey safety norms.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the fire mishap of Steam Core Ispats increased to 4 on Thursday, with one more injured person succumbing to injuries at the Osmania General Hospital on Thursday.
The three persons who succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment have been identified as Beechulal (27), Malkam Singh (30) and Kapoor Khak (30). The victims hailed from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The condition of 9 of the injured is said to be serious, as they had suffered 80% burns. (INN)
