Will KCR Remove Nizam's Statue Too, Asks BJP
The Party said that if the rationale was that Andhra leaders did injustice to Telangana, then the Nizams had also inflicted atrocities upon their subjects.
Telangana BJP's Chief Spokesperson M Ramchander Rao on Tuesday strongly opposed the Telangana government's decision to remove the statues of Andhra personalities from Tank Bund.
Speaking to media persons, Ramchander Rao asked that if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was so particular that the statues of only Telangana leaders should be there on Tank Bund, then would he remove the statue of the sixth Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan too.
He said that if the rationale was that Andhra leaders did injustice to the people of Telangana, then the Nizams had also inflicted atrocities upon their subjects. Therefore, the Nizam's statue should also be removed along with those of Andhra personalities, he stated.
The BJP leader alleged that by planning to remove the statues of Andhra personalities, KCR was trying to create a rift among the Telugu people.
He also welcomed the announcement of the installation of the statue of freedom fighter late Konda Laxman Bapuji at Tank Bund. (INN)
