The Telugu Desam Party on Friday warned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that the party members would stall the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly if he fails to honour his promise and announce a decision on release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar dam to Krishna Delta farmers.
Talking to reporters at Assembly media point, TDP MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao asked the Chief Minister as to why he was resorting to delaying tactics in taking a decision on release of water from Nagarjuna sagar Dam to Krishna Delta despite availability of abundant water in the Dam. Though Krishna Delta farmers were facing piquant situation due to lack of water and crops spread across lakhs of hectares were withering, he regretted the MLAs attitude for not responding on the issue and making efforts to address the problem.
If the government did not announce a decision by Saturday, he warned that the TDP would intensify its agitation against the government. (INN)
