Students of the University Of Hyderabad resumed protests in front of the main gate on Saturday, complaining against the removal of a tent, and photos of Dr Ambedkar and Rohith Vemula by the security personnel of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, the student leaders questioned the necessity of removing the tent and the photos / portraits of Vemula and Dr Ambedkar in the same night.
They also lambasted the Union government for not removing University Vice-Chancellor P Appa Rao, who they alleged was responsible for driving research scholar Rohith Vemula to suicide due to "mental torture caused by the Brahmin-dominated university".
They alleged that the authorities were systematically harassing and suppressing the Dalit students continuously.
The students reiterated that their struggle would not end till the Centre initiated strict action against the VC.
